Sholom alechem.

There is a guy we are going to bat for, Paul Tosh, a Scottish-born, Jewish USA-based entertainer, with an incredible musical background fit for any audience.

I hope this message finds you well. My name is Lou Goba, former Sony A&R now with TJB PublishingNew York.

Paul is a singer, pianist, and songwriter. It's unusual how he approaches song performance like it’s a play, with looping piano and voice. He also knows how to deliver the songs as they were originally intended / he blends both and incorporates a "Piano" key-note presentation of motivational insights behind well-known songs. He also has his originals that display his phenomenal talent for writing and music.

Paul usually performs a show made up of the three core elements:

  • The Song Is the Play: Where Paul reimagines lyrics as scenes in a theatrical format, performing classics from six decades of Jewish songwriters: Amy Winehouse.  Billy Joel.  Bob Dylan.  Bette Midler.  Barbra Streisand.  Carole Sager.  Diane Warren.  Danny Kaye. Leonard Cohen.  Lou Reid.  George Gershwin.  Carole King.  Leiber & Stoller (Elvis).  George Weiss (Elvis).  Barry Manilow. Mark Ronson.  10cc.  Regina Spector.  Stephen Sondheim.  Mark Cohen.  Simon & Garfunkel. Carly Simon.  Burt Bacharach.  Marvin Hamlish.  Hillel Slovak (Red Hot Chili Peppers).   Dorothy Parker. Herbert Kretzmer. Alex Clare. Mark Shaiman. Don Black, Frank Sinatras Jewish writers: Cy Coleman. Richard Rogers. Irving Berlin. Mel Torme.  Sammy Kahn. Carolyn Leigh. Harold Arlen., alongside his originals.

  • udiences love the humor, warmth, and emotional depth. Truly the modern version of a one-man band.

Ben Shapiro remarked: “Check this guy out, it’s a kiddush Hashem.”

For JCC’s / cultural centers, synagogues, Pesach and community organizations, Paul offers Backstage with the Tribe a Jewish tribute that's incorporated with The Song Is The Play, adding intimate storytelling to connect the music with the history and experiences of the songwriters, in which he showcases his immense ability to cover songs from all the prominent Jewish artists of the past.

• Operetta (Paper Gun) - His Masterpiece of Original Work.

• & motivational "Piano" Key-Note. An exposition of hidden insights in popular song.

Audience members often find themselves deeply moved; Paul performs with a radiant Jewish pride that resembles him as a man of faith. Amy Kirshtein expressed after the show at Libby's and Daniels home concert, she described Paul's show as, ‘A poetic call to presence, reminding us that the pursuit itself is the purpose, and that love, more than anything, is the foundation of it all. So much fun to watch Paul’s creative brain at work, he really knows how to incorporate an audience into the experience.’

On the web site you can see everything for what it is, as well as the elements individually. I warmly invite you to explore the videos showcasing his showmanship, which capture his music, personality, and storytelling far better than words:
Home Page: www.PaulTosh.com

Paul is a self-sufficient, consummate professional, he brings full technical support. If your venue doesn’t have a piano, he arrives with a complete looping piano/keyboard setup. He does not need accommodation or food; he shows up and performs.

A magician on the piano, with effortless grace on grand piano or Electric keyboard. Audiences are moved not just by his technical mastery, but by his warmth, humor, and captivating voice.

To get a sense of his original works, here are a few recent performances:

Audiences leave saying they felt seen, inspired, and joyful. One host shared:

“Last night made me feel like pre-WWII era of the arts in society! Loved it”

Libby Fox, Charleston home concert

Operetta performed for; friends, family, and neighbors

Paul describes his artistry in a simple quote: ‘Music and song are a great comfort in what seems like a chaotic world.  Spreading love and goodwill with the material I choose; in this art I love and practice. It's a vicarious therapy and a fulfillment, thank G-d, second to none’

Honorarium: $750–$1,500 (flexible depending on program and setup).
Currently booking 2025/26

Your audience will leave lighter, more connected, and quietly moved, and many will want to see him again. I’d love to help schedule Paul Tosh for your venue and audience.

The SongWriters

P2 backstage.jpg

With deep roots in storytelling and a cultural emphasis on questioning, it’s no coincidence I was drawn to the thinking and mindset of the Jewish songwriters.

Their ability to blend profound emotion with wit, and universal themes speaks to a unique worldview shaped by a history of, struggle, and creativity. Crafting songs that were both intensely personal and universally resonant—turning hardship into beauty, humor, or hope—in an art form that not only entertains but also connects people across diverse experience. This introspective yet outward-looking approach mirrors a way of thinking that is very familiar and meaningful, as per another* shared narrative that transcends generations.

“In the frum world, we don't often talk about the experience of love. Here, love is explored tastefully. The songs are dense but easy to listen to and that's just from a recording. I imagine there is a special energy listening to it live..”

The logo spells out TJB its my hands and my bestie Mesoud Benasuly. When we were in London we played in hotels, and synagogues  as "the J Brothers"

Artists like Bob Dylan used music as a medium for social commentary, influencing generations of folk and protest music.

A significant number of Frank Sinatra’s most iconic songs were written by Jewish songwriters, reflecting their profound impact on the Great American Songbook, and with songs that became jazz standards.

Songwriters like George Gershwin, Irving Berlin, and Richard Rodgers also created timeless music for Broadway and Hollywood.

Jewish Rock and Pop songwriters such as Carole King, Neil Diamond, Billy Joel, and Burt Bacharach, shaped the sound of modern pop and rock with groundbreaking compositions.

Their contributions are not only a testament to their talent but also to the cultural richness of Jewish traditions and their adaptability in various artistic expressions.
