MISSION

For me personally it’s about the development of the show and the craft and approach over the years, and in an entirely selfish way – I see the more selfish I am about that the more people enjoy it.

I first believe in giving the audience my best as well as a bit of what they want.

For them to have a wonderful evening of music and entertainment.

To get us all out of our skin.

WHY I DO IT

Also to stand with my fellow, no need to posture, and in a shared prayer.

Music and song are a refuge in a chaotic world. Spreading love and goodwill in the material I choose; in this art I love and practice. It's a vicarious therapy and a fulfillment, thank G-d, second to none.

PERFORMATIVE SONGWRITING

Performance is part of the writing process for me, it is a taste a freedom in the highest form of giving. Pieces of my own work or others, get turned around and alchemized because you are there with me. Creating an interpretation as we go along.

Songwriting in this way is like confession, but with a difference; it is not a compulsive unburdening to manage anxiety. It’s transforming pain into something beautiful, structured, meaningful. The alchemy serves the audience, as well as myself.

People tell me they find their own meaning, their own resonance. My confession becomes their catharsis also.

It is simultaneously doing something for others, is what “fixes” the writing from any darker perspective. Tapping into the healing of self understanding from a generosity perspective.
